Richard Rattie, otherwise known as Rick is an aspiring writer and activist who lives in Olympia, Washington with his partner Wes and 4 four legged children.

In his youth, his parents instilled in him as well as his sibblings community activism.  When Rick was young, he could remember his parents working to oppose the building of the Nuclear Plant near their town.  In the end the plant was built but never went into operation.

This activism carried into his adult life with his involvement with the United Community AIDS Network for fifteen years.  Back in those days, the disease was nearly always fatalistic and he looks at it now and sees what a change has been made yet we are so far from a cure for the disease.  He has an idea in the back of his head to tell his story from a volunteer standpoint a look at the AIDS crisis.

After 'retiring' from as an AIDS activist, he took some time for himself and continued his association with Keeshond Rescue in particular serving on the Board of Directors for the Keeshond Sunshine Rescue Fund (http://www.ksrf.org/

A few year ago, he was diagnosed with ADHD as well as Dystemic Depression and was able to attain disability status with Social Security.  This has given him a chance to start to put his life together as well as pursue creative outlets for his mind is his writing as well as working with animal rescue both with Keeshond and Jack Russell Terriers..

His nephew Jaime was an inspiration for him as a writer.   He dedicates his writing to his family and friends who provide a sounding board for his ideas and their support.
